Week(s) in Review

I’ll admit it – I’ve been SUPER distracted lately. We’ve had a lot going on, and documenting the ‘Day in the Life of the Feldmann Girls’ has fallen by the wayside (snarky Facebook posts and tweets about their recent dispositions notwithstanding). So, I’ll do a quick recap of some events that have happened over the past few weeks.

1. Valentine’s Day Party

Okay, this was a month ago, but it’s too cute not to include. I helped host the Valentine’s Day party in Paige’s preschool class, and I’m pretty sure the pictures speak for themselves. Love was definitely in the air. Heaven help us.

Meet Landon. He's basically the boy-version of Paige, and I heart him for so many reasons. He always enthusiastically greets me with a "Hello, Paige's mom!" Plus, that tie? I swear, he's the mayor of this preschool class. (Also, please note that these two are holding hands.)

2. Potty Drama

Blair is obsessed with the potty. Talking about it (oh, the amount of potty talk in our house), sitting on it, flushing it … but not exactly going on it. We have yet to have any ACTUAL potty-ing occur in said potty. I swear, I’ll potty train her soon. Maybe. We’ll see. Okay, it’s not a priority. Plus, I had a mini-intervention where a mom-friend said she was going to potty train her if I hadn’t done it by the time she turned 3. At least, that’s what I heard her say. And now it’s here in writing.

At The Children's Museum, where they have teeny tiny potties...which every child must immediately sit on, regardless on potty-training status.

3. Houston, We Lost a Tooth!!!

Paigers lost a tooth! Her first, legitimate, tooth loss (not including her front tooth, which she knocked out after taking a header into our hallway chair when she was a little over 2 years old. Okay, “lost” might be a stretch. It had been wiggly for weeks, and it was so loose that I swear it was going to fall right out while she was eating. So we tricked her into letting her Aunt EJ pull it. I will spare you the video, mostly because I’m concerned about the reaction you will have by watching it. The drama was at an all-time high. It worked in her favor, though. The tooth fairy apparently only had a twenty dollar bill, and the only change the tooth fairy’s older brother had that night were 2 tens. So, $10 it was! Plus a sparkly $1 bill for her to keep.

The other bottom tooth is now hanging by a thread, and all of a sudden I have an almost-Kindergartner who is losing teeth. What the heck? Never fear – she threw a HUGE fit today and got tossed into bed for a nap. She likes to keep me grounded – she’s good like that.

4. Art Class

Blair has continued taking art class, and I’m pretty sure it’s the highlight of her week. It’s all she talks about, and she LOVES every second that she’s there. And she never misses a chance to rub it in Paige’s face that she gets to go to art class with Mommy. Which makes Paige cry. Never mind that when Paige was Blair’s age, she ALSO took art class with Mommy.

But, the fights are worth it, because stuff like this happens:

5. Almost-Spring

We finally had a warm day. the sidewalks were packed, people were day drinking and eating outside, my nieces were wearing sundresses and flip flops. There may still be ice on the lakes and snow on the ground, but we had a few (MORE THAN ONE!) warm day, and it gave us all hope. It may have been only high-60s, but that’s how we roll in Indiana. We jump on all things sunshine-related. Especially after the winter we’ve had.
